5-Courses + Cocktails with Death & Taxes

We were lucky enough to partner with one of our favorite cocktail bars in Reno, Death & Taxes, for a five-course cocktail paired dinner. 

We love partnering with local businesses to host pop-up dinners. These dinners and pairings are such an unique and special way for guests to spend the evening with loved ones and new friends. Our goal was for guests to enjoy the evening as much as we enjoyed teaming up with Death & Taxes to curate the menu. 

To start the evening, Death & Taxes created a sparkling rose, peach infused Aperol cocktail that paired perfectly with our naturally leavened bread and butter and salts. From there, the guests enjoyed olive oil washed junipero gin with blood orange, cara cara orange and lemon cocktail. This second cocktail went with our alfalfa and juniper smoked carrots topped with goat’s milk yogurt, walnut and honey comb. 

If our guests weren’t satisfied already, Death & Taxes served bay leaf infused compass box great king scotch, zucca, lillet blanc and balsamic. We paired their drink with smoked duck served with rhubarb, duck liver mousse and pink peppercorn tuile. 

For the fourth course, guests enjoyed scotch braised lamb topped with mushrooms, peas, romaine hearts and mint pistou. This course’s cocktail was named the Sugar Cane, with Cachaça, falernum, celery, lime, genepy, pineapple and honey. 

And for the last course, we served our signature cherry sundae with pistachio, granola, cherry sorbet and buttermilk ice cream. To top off the cocktails, Death & Taxes paired our sundae with a meyer lemon cocktail. This cocktail had El Silencio mezcal, don fulano tequila, meyer lemon infused averna, banana and strawberry infused dolin blanc. 

Death & Taxes was the perfect location to host such classy and intimate event. We are so lucky to serve the Reno and Lake Tahoe communities. We’re already dreaming up our next menu for a pop-up dinner. We hope to see you at the next one!
