From the time I got engaged I knew I wanted Butter + Salt to cater my wedding. I’ve been following Aubrey online since she was in culinary school and to see how much their business has flourished in such a short time is incredible. They really deserve it! Aubrey + Tyler were so outstanding I’m still thinking about all of the delicious food they made for us at our wedding. We got so many compliments on how great the food tasted, I seriously wish that I didn’t live out of state so they could cook for us all the time.My husband and I met up with the pair back in June for a taste testing for our September wedding. We really wanted to keep it casual and do a taco bar and Butter + Salt delivered above and beyond. We loved everything we tasted so much that we chose to have them cater our rehearsal dinner as well. For the rehearsal dinner we did a burger bar and everyone loved it so much. They were so incredibly accomodating this whole year from everything to our budget to our crazy family and we could not recommend this company enough. They were so organized + thoughtful. Thank you Butter + Salt, we love you!
Aubrey & Tyler are an incredibly professional and passionate couple-team of chefs! They fed our group of 16 3x a day. Their pleasant personalities, organization & willingness to have exactly what we needed on hand was incredible. I highly recommend Butter + Salt for your private in home or large scale event!
I wrote a previous review when my now husband and I had our tasting for our wedding. We are now freshly married and I couldn’t NOT take the time to explain here how Aubrey and Tyler made it truly, the best time of our lives. When I first met Aubrey and Tyler, the team that makes up Butter + Salt, I had an immediate connection. Since our tasting I began an email & text relationship with Aubrey that was, at the very least, weekly check-ins. She was always happy to indulge me when I had questions, wanted to send her pictures, or just generally talk about the love of food. By the time the wedding rolled around, I felt like I had gained a real friend. Aubrey and Tyler started with our rehearsal dinner - already blowing my mind. They made fancy sliders, mexican street corn, potato salad with lardons and chives, and everyone’s favorite - deep dish mixed berry pies with chamomile whipped cream (pic attached)! Everyone was already in love with them, they had absolutely killed it. What was even the point of having the wedding? OH WAIT I KNOW - TO EAT MORE OF THIS AMAZING FOOD.Not only did they serve 4 spectacular appetizers (tuna tartare on watermelon radishes, feta and watermelon skewers, porkbelly peach sliders (pic attached), and crab hushpuppies with orange aoli), but they also served an amazing five-course dinner family-style under the stars. We had grilled steak with fresh chimichurri sauce, a beautiful seafood trio, roasted carrots with almonds & goat cheese, whipped sweet potatoes with brown butter, and OMG skillet cornbread with honey peach butter (still eating the leftover peach butter on everything). As if all this was not enough, they really helped me out and along with the two amazing desserts (lemon bars and the BEST brownies I have had in my entire life), they made my wedding cake. It was a carrot cake and was absolutely incredible. I am still eating it for breakfast every morning. Lastly, they made the most delicious pretzel bites with beer mustard for all my guests as a late night snack (it saved everyone after the booze had been working through their system for hours). While obviously food is important, in fact it was the most important factor of the wedding to me, Aubrey and Tyler make this much more than food. These are two people that have such an incredible energy, amazing attitudes, and are just two of the more wonderful human beings you will find to work with. They were GENUINELY happy for my husband and I, they seemed to be just as excited about the wedding as we were. It is rare you can find good wedding food. It is even rarer to find chefs who can execute at such a high caliber of cooking at such a large scale and stay calm and professional. It is impossible to find people THIS talented who are also the kindest, most modest and dedicated to making your “big day” something you will never forget.
My sister and her husband hired Aubrey and Tyler from Butter + Salt to celebrate the one year anniversary of buying their condo in South Lake Tahoe. Tyler and Aubrey prepared out of this world appetizers, main course, and desert. The presentation of the food was beyond compare!! If you are looking for a caterer, look no further than Butter + Salt. I cannot say enough of their professionalism and attention to detail when it comes to food preparation. Everything was soooo good! Thank you Aubrey and Tyler for making the night that much more special with your presence and talents!
Butter & Salt was highly recommended not just by people we knew who had hired them, but also by Tahoe Luxery Rentals where we stayed for the holidays. We were not disappointed. First they were fantastic to work with and we even had last minute add on’s and a need for extra seating, they took care of everything. Service was top notch. But the food, wow, the seared scallops and the chicken confit cassoulet just melts in your mouth. Everything was perfectly seasoned and ended with a mouth watering Crepe Suzette. This wasn’t a meal, it was an event. I just wish they would make their seasonal salts and butter available for purchase. Delicious. We are big fans of Butter & Salt
Tyler and Aubrey, You two are still talked about by our family at least twice a week. We got our wedding book back today and I saw your picture; I felt the need to tell the world how great you are! Your creativity, adaptability, and genuine care for the craft is a breath of fresh air. You should charge more . If you are looking to have a great dinner in the Reno Tahoe area, you should consider having them to your place to do it. It will be better than anything in a 200 mile radius, and will cost around the same as a nice dinner. Plus no mark up on booze! Cheers.
